Who's running the board

I'm Els, an audio engineer in Austin. I've been doing audio professionally since 2019, including live events at SXSW and KVRX and managing an 8-city tour. I mix records and bring my own PA to events around Austin. You talk to me from the first message to teardown.

Hours include setup, soundcheck and teardown. Students, co-ops and community groups: ask about a reduced rate. Very large events and travel outside Austin are quoted before you book.

How booking works

  1. Send the details

    Date, place, how many people and what you need amplified.

  2. Get a quote

    You get a total and what is included, usually within a day.

  3. Confirm with a deposit

    A deposit holds your date. The rest is due at the event.

  4. I show up early

    I set up, soundcheck and run the night so you do not have to.

Questions

How far ahead should I book?

Two weeks is comfortable. Last-minute dates are sometimes possible, so ask.

What do you need from the venue?

Power, a spot for the speakers and a time to load in. Tell me about stairs or tight spaces and I will plan for them.

Do you do outdoor events?

Yes, if there is power and cover for the gear. I will tell you what I need when I quote.

What if I need to cancel?

Tell me as early as you can. Move the date at no charge with a week of notice. The deposit covers my time if it is closer than that.

Can you work with a band's own sound person?

Yes. I can supply the PA and let their engineer mix, or mix the show myself.
